Passion Play In Barrow

Peter Reed LMPA

Over 200 people gathered in St. Mary’s Church, Barrow-in-Furness, to see the “The Road to Calvary” performed by the Parishioners of St. Bernadette’s, Clydach, South Wales. The powerful drama was written and directed by Brian Griffiths and has grown from a small production held in the local Church hall into a spectacular event seen around South Wales and on tour in England during Lent. The Barrow presentation of the play was organised by local man. Nick Donnelly.
The play is an exciting interpretation of the last 12 hours in the life of Jesus. The play is performed to raise funds to help the St. Vincent de Paul Society with their special works around Swansea, where they have a soup run for the rough sleepers in the city centre as well as running a furniture store to help those in need.
