EVANGELISATION IN BLACKPOOL

On December 3rd, Clare Ford of C.A.S.E. (Catholic Agency for the Support of Evangelisation) will be coming to our deanery to talk to us, help us to understand Evangelisation and guide us towards developing a plan of action for spreading the Good News of Jesus in our locality, the town of Blackpool.

In the 8 weeks prior to December 3rd the parishes of Blackpool are undertaking a period of prayer to ask God to be with us and to guide us as we move towards our mission in Blackpool.

To prepare for this, a chain of Holy Hours has been organised, with each parish preparing and hosting one of these. To symbolise our joining together in prayer, an icon depicting the Trinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit has been prepared, (see below) and will journey with us from parish to parish across the whole deanery. It is the work of students at St. Mary’s High School and is part of the new celing design at St. John Vianney’s church.
The Holy Hours are as follows: -

Sun 2nd October 4.00pm – 5.00pm Christ the King
Sun 9th October 3.00pm – 4.00pm St. Cuthbert’s
Sun 16th October 3.00pm – 4.00pm St. John Vianney
Sat 22nd October 11.00am – 12.00am St. Bernadette
Sat 5th November 11.00am – 12.00am St. Kentigern
Sun 13th November 4.00pm – 5.00pm Holy Family
Sat 19th November 10.30am – 11.30am Sacred Heart
Sun 27th November 2.00pm – 3.00pm The Assumption

This period of prayer will culminate in the Evangelisation Day. At St. Margaret Clitheroe’s on Lytham Road (next to South Shore Hospital) 10.00am – 4.00pm (concluding with the Mass of Sunday)
Everyone welcome (please bring packed lunch – drinks provided.
