THE ST.CUTHBERT’S STORY

A Celebration and a Half- for a Century and a Quarter!

[See second Editorial]
At St Cuthbert's, Blackpool we are celebrating 125 years of a parish presence. On the feast of St Cuthbert (4th September) the congregation from our chapel-of-ease, St Margaret Clitherow, joined the parishioners at St Cuthbert's for a single Sunday Mass to mark the occasion. This will be followed by bigger event on Thursday 3rd November, when the 7pm Mass will be attended by Bishop Patrick and clergy associated with the parish (in recent years - presumably we have no one who remembers the creation of the parish!), along with former parishioners.

At this event we hope to mount a display of photographs to tell the story of parish life over the years up to the present time Are there any former parishioners or anyone with an involvement with the parish who would be willing to loan photographs? These would be treated with care and returned to their owners by mid-November. We are looking for personal records eg Baptisms, First Communions, Weddings etc not necessarily laying the foundation stone or items associated with the fabric of the building (welcome though these would be) but events concerning the people who make up the parish.
