Serving God's Word

The second Vatican Council reminded us that the Church and its teaching are there to serve God’s Word. Each genration therefore must seek out and serve the Word of God alive and active in people and community. If we fail in this, the word may lie dormant and unfulfilled in people’s lives. As we prepare to celebrate HOME MISSION SUNDAY, (September 18th) The Voice offers its readers an overview of some of the many ways in which toadys’s Church tries to carry out its task.

THE CATHOLIC AGENCY TO SUPPORT EVANGELISATION (C.A.S.E.)

THE CATHOLIC AGENCY TO SUPPORT EVANGELISATION (C.A.S.E.)CASE is hoping to recruit people from every background for what it describes as the most important job in England and Wales. There are currently a wide variety of evangelisation opportunities nationally which have yet to be taken up. Home Mission Sunday, on September 18th, will mark the start of the recruitment drive. Free resource packs are being sent to every parish and religious house. Mgr Baltrop added, "In the parable of the labourers in the vineyard, which will be read out at Masses on Home Mission Sunday, the Lord invites us all to work in the Lord's vineyard. This is an invitation which is given to each one of us today, and CASE is here to help every baptised Catholic be those modem day labourers.'
