Historial, Peter Doyle has recently published a splendid book new history of the diocese of Liverpool, entitled Mitres & Missions in Lancashire. As much of the southern end of our diocese was once part of the Liverpool diocese it will be of immediate interest to Catholics in that area, but it is rich source of information for anyone interested in Church History and indeed local history. For the curious and those of us with long memories it also fascinating insights into events and controversies of fairly recent times. It’s in the shops now. We hope to carry a full review soon.
