TIME FOR GOD

GREAT NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Our young people have been given a timely gift for the start of the new year. "10.27" is the name of a promising new programme for people between 18 and 27 years. It has been formed jointly by The Catholic Youth Service, CARITAS and the ecumenical charity TFG (Time for God). Sarah Lindsell, Director of Caritas says, "Young people have an amazing amount to offer and here is a chance for them to make a real difference to many people’s lives,". Helen Brady of the Catholic Youth Services hails it as fantastic opportunity for young people to develop their skills and grow in their faith. "We are delighted to be working in partnership with Caritas and the ecumenical charity Time for God to offer experiences for young people."

The title comes from Luke 10:27 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind. And Love your neighbour as you love yourself."

Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, says, "10-27 will provide new and exciting opportunities for young men and women to live the Gospels. By sharing their time with the wider community, these young volunteers will gain a wealth of experience, develop new skills and provide welcome assistance to many of the most vulnerable in our society."
