March 2004 Edition Archive

THE LADIES OF LANCASTER FIND THEIR VOICE

This month’s Voice is a "Women’s" edition, not exclusively, but with a strong female influence. The month of March was chosen for it because March is the month of the Annunciation, Mother’s Day and Women’s Day of Prayer. It is not an exercise in political correctness or women’s "Lib" and it is certainly not about knitting patterns. It is simply an attempt to give a woman’s perspective to life and belief. This front page introduces to some of our contributors.

We look at the stories of some remarkable women, two from history, St. Theresa of Avila, and Elizabeth Fry and others from among our readers. We hope you will agree that they are indeed remarkable. These are personal stories of faith, commitment, dedication and courage. We hope you will enjoy reading them and maybe grow in your own faith and humanity as a result. And if there are any men reading who feel badly done by, just remember this is Your Voice, let it speak for you.
